Transfer
One of the assignments of CCGL9061 is to create an intriguing, beautiful and thoughtful DST image illustrating the field of digital humanitarianism. Students can not only unleash their creativity, but also explain their approach to their picture, and cast votes for their peers’ images. The most voted achievements can then be shared outside of the course.
THC CHILD EXHIBIT
"Here, the image portrays a child encased in a glass box, representing a monument that would typically be exhibited in a museum. This image was published alongside a series of other images that battles different social issues, specifically, a child exploited as a worker in Bangladesh is depicted. The spotlight illuminated onto the child highlights the child worker as the focal point of the image, drawing the audience’s attention to the child."

THE CHILD'S UTOPIA
"People crying in dismay, shouting in pain and screaming in torment. But this does not stop the child from fantasizing a quixotic utopia where hopes still lurk within. This photo strongly manifested the fine line between hope and despair."

IN FLANDERS FIELDS
"A lifetime of despair in a child’s body. The tiny soldier stands in a field of what should have been, had the adults not failed him. The world of a child is supposed to be vivid, yet he has lost the rainbow. Does the child soldier dream of colouring the world with crayons, or does he know nothing else than the darkness he is engulfed in?"
